Range Finder continuously measures the level of molten pig iron inside the Torpedo Car; when the car is full, the tilting tough is automatically switched to the next empty car.
The sensor never loses the signal from the surface, even with the presence of extremely dense billowing smoke, dust, skull formation around the mouth or violent surface conditions at hot metal pretreatment facilities involving the injection of fluxes for desiliconization, dephosphorization and desulfurization into the torpedo cars.
This fully automated; maintenance free system improves efficiencies by allowing the cars to be filled to maximum capacity, thus increasing production and reducing heat energy loss, and also eliminates costly and dangerous accidents, caused by overfilling the Torpedo Car.
In WADECO's extensive experience with level measurement in Torpedo Cars, there is no margin for error, our customers are able to rely 100% on the measurement provided by our sensor, anything less is unacceptable - and we never miss.

Enables a flat casting floor.
The MWS-24RF-TH type Micro Ranger was developed for torpedo car level measurement while making the casting floor flat. This FM-CW microwave sensor consists of a controller, antenna, guide pipe, and reflector. The reflector, guide pipe, antenna, and controller are installed under the fixed casting floor. The flat casting floor allows heavy machinery to keep moving freely without obstruction.
